The Open-Air Museum – “Galeria pod Chmurką”
Maruszów is a little village on the Kielce – Lublin route. A retired miner, Edward Ziarko, lives here developing his unusual interests.
His passion is gathering old architectural objects. In his estate, next to a house with a besom figure on the roof, there are also a rich peasant’s cottage, a wooden barn with a thatched roof, an atmospheric inn and an old school building. All objects are equipped with the accessories like school benches and school supplies used in the past or old farm machinery.
The owner has sited there a cottage from Lasocin lately. Construction of a forge is also planned. Moreover, Edward Ziarko is an amateur sculptor too. His works stand among the old historic buildings. They are made from roots, tree stumps, limbs, stones etc.
The outdoor gallery in Maruszów is first place of interest on the Nadwiślański Artistic Trail, including the sculptures by students of Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow.
