You do not need to travel to France to admire lavender fields, captivating with its colour and fragrance. In May and June, in Winiary Dolne near Nowy Korczyn, flowering lavender gives a stunning scent. In addition, flying horseflies, bumblebees and butterflies make an unforgettable mixture of sounds.

It is worth stopping in Wełecz, between Busko-Zdrój and Pińczów. There is “a pine tree on stilts” at the edge of the Wełecki forest. Its root system has been uncovered due to serious soil erosion and a lowering of the ground.

This place is also a silent witness of history. More than two hundred people were executed by firing squad during the Second World War.
