2nd Stakeholder Meeting of the Interreg CORE project: Meeting the challenges of the region
On December 20, 2023, the 2nd Meeting of Stakeholders of the Interreg Europe program project, called: ‘CORE – Composting in Rural Environments’, took place at the Nature Education Center in Umianowice. It is a project implemented as part of the Interreg Europe 2021-2027 program, in which representatives of eight countries participate, including Poland represented by the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. Its main goal is to look for innovative and effective solutions and exchange experiences regarding regional policy in the area of bio-waste management.
On the meeting on September 26-28, 2024, good practices from all the project partners’ regions were presented. During study visits to Bolzano, a picturesque province of Italy, where representatives of partner countries shared their knowledge and experience.
Representatives of regional municipal utilities, municipalities and expert institutions, such as the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Kielce, also spoke at Wednesday’s meeting. During a lively discussion, numerous arguments were raised regarding both challenges and innovative solutions in the field of composting in rural environments.
Representatives of the Marshal Office of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, Anna Kucharczyk, deputy director of the Department of Investment and Development, and Wioletta Czarnecka, director of the Department of Environment and Waste Management, assured that the Office is constantly making every effort to meet the expectations of Stakeholders and other residents of our region.
