From A to Z
Passersby do not pay attention to a marbled plaque on the north wall of the cathedral in Kielce, in the belief that it is an epitaph. But the content of this plaque can be surprising after closer examination.
The plaque is kind of a primer that was an information source for inhabitants in the 18th century. It includes an alphabet, figures and truths of the faiths.
At the bottom of the plaque, units of measurement are presented: a cubit, an inch, a foot etc.
The plaque is founded in 1782 by priest primate Michał Poniatowski who was a reformer of education and church.
